It has the flavor of tropical fruits like papaya and the sweetness of dark fruits like blackberry. The aftertaste is reminiscent of craft chocolate. This is a lot that was selected and purchased from samples provided by local exporter PRISMA COFFEE ORIGINS during a visit to Guatemala. The unfamiliar Pache variety is a Typica variant discovered in Guatemala in 1949. Its compact size allows for dense planting, which has the advantage of increasing yields. The Santa Rosa area where this farm is located has been steadily gaining attention in recent years with an increasing number of Cup of Excellence award winners. PRISMA COFFEE ORIGINS supports small producers in improving their quality and exports, helping to bring these lesser-known producers into the spotlight.Prisma Coffee Origins was founded in 2013 by Eduardo Ambrosio and his family. In Guatemala, where there are many relatively large commercial lots, we focus on sourcing and selling high-quality coffee. We place emphasis on supporting small-scale local producers and connecting producers with quality-conscious buyers who are willing to pay for high quality.During my visit, I was impressed by the strong desire of the many small-scale producers who spoke enthusiastically about the potential and challenges facing Guatemalan producers, and how they are striving to improve quality and deliver the excellent coffee they produce to the world.-------------------------------------------------------------
